Youth against Terror 2011
For the seventh time “Youth Initiative Group” organized the annual international action “Youth against Terror”. This year the project included various activities both on the national and international levels.
Exhibition "ARTERROR". Traditionally the action “Youth against Terror” was opened with the exhibition, the authors of which are three young artists – Aleksandr Nazimov, Natalija Selina and Vilius Kiskis. European Youth in Lithuania. On the 22–25th of September the traditional international forum of youth from various public organizations was taken place in Vilnius. Young leaders took part in the conference, watched social movies made by young people and had some serious simulation games, which would help the participants to approach possible decisions and action on the international politic level.
Film Festival “KinoKolor”. One of the events opening the action "Youth against Action 2011" was the film festival "Kino Kolor". This was the second film festival in the frame of the action and it took place in the cinema "Multikino". After the greeting speech the viewers were invited to watch short movies made by young volunteers on the social topic. The competent committee valued every movie and chose three of them in order to reward the worthiest. The viewers also voted and selected one more movie, which got the public's liking prize.
Internetional Conference. The international conference “Multiculturalism and Nationalism: New Challenges“ will be held on September 23rd, in conference hall “Vilniaus Verslo Uostas” (Lvovo st. 25), at 10:00. During the conference the following topics will be discussed: - the impact of multicultural policy to the development of national and international conflicts; - consequences of globalisation and cosmopolitism; - role and efficiency of international organisations in conflict resolution. During the conference English-Russian and Russian-English simultaneous translation will be performed. The conference is held in the framework of annual action “Youth against Terror”.
Intellectual Games Championship. As every year in the frame of the action the championship of Baltic countries "Silver Crane IX" including both "What? Where? When?" and "Brain Ring" intellectual games was held. Traditionally, the championship was lead by Aleksej Prochorov and master of the game Aleksandr Druz. The championship.
Performance "Dream about Rain". We were glad to invite you all for the first time to Lithuanian Russian Drama Theatre, where the Young Actor‘s Theatre from Moscow had their performance “Dream about Rain”. This year the final event of action “Youth against Terror” was a theatre performance, which was a symbolic tribute to young actors, who became victims of the terrorist attack in the Nord Ost, and it did not leave the audience indifferent neither to its content, nor the sincerity that only children – actors possess. During the whole performance not even a single word was said, as the performance consisted only of folk songs brought from the theatre‘s folklore expeditions.
The theatre directed by the famous Russian artist Aleksand Fiodorov, became a winner of a number of theatre festivals and is unique due to then fact that it is a professional children theatre. The performance “Dream about Rain” was given „Grand Prix“ in the International children theatre festival.
